If I had to choose one word to sum up my sophomore year, it would be grateful. As I reflect on the past year, I am with overwhelmed with gratitude. God brought so many incredible people into my life and blessed me with so many indescribable experiences. Saying goodbye to my friends last week, family this weekend, and Friars Club today was tough, but my heart is so full thinking about the love I have for them and the support they’ve shown me. So thank you.
I am currently sitting in the Boston airport waiting to board my plane to LAX, where I’ll meet up with the wonderful Adrianna Perry. From there, we’ll be hopping on another plane to Sydney. A lot of people have asked me if I’m nervous, but I don’t think the reality of this fellowship has set in enough for me to be nervous. I am getting on this plane with open hands and an open heart. I don’t know exactly why God is sending me on this adventure, but I cannot wait to find out. What I do know is that this fellowship is going to change me, at least in some sense. God is going to use this fellowship to direct my heart closer to Him. In Pope Francis’ Joy of the Gospel he says, “Life grows by being given away, and it weakens in isolation and comfort. Indeed, those who enjoy life most are those who leave security on the shore and become excited by the mission of communicating life to others.” WOW. Isn’t that a cool way to think about evangelizing. Putting isolation and comfort aside and communicating life to others. Over the next 6 weeks, I hope to grow closer to radical, sacrificial, selfless love. This fellowship is all about living the Gospel and surrendering to God’s will.
I’ll be posting updates at least once a week! Please say some prayers for me and the people I will be serving. All my love ❤
